How do I block wildcard patterns on my iPhone?

Blocking

On iOS, as of app version 4.3, users now have the ability to block and allow ranges of phone numbers. Due to Apple's restrictions on the amount of numbers that can be blocked, the shortest range we can allow users to block is 5 digits.

Instructions for using:

  • Tap on the Block/Allow Screen
  • Tap the “+” button to add a new number or range to block
  • Tap the option at the bottom of the screen to select to block a range of numbers rather than a single number
  • Enter the range you’d like to block (i.e. +173244, +1732444, etc.)

Once you’ve entered a range of numbers that you’d like to block, any phone call you receive that matches that range will be blocked by RoboKiller.

Allowing

Conversely, if there’s a range of numbers that you always want to receive calls from because you know they are not spam, you can add that range as an allowed range to RoboKiller, removing those numbers from your block list.

Instructions for using:

  • Tap on the Block/Allow Screen
  • Tap on the Allow pane
  • Tap the “+” button to add a new number or range to allow
  • Tap the option at the bottom of the screen to allow a range of numbers
  • Enter the range you’d like to allow (i.e. +173244, +1732444, etc.)

Once you’ve entered a range of numbers that you’d like to allow, any phone call you receive that matches that range will be allowed by RoboKiller.

NOTE: If a user has two ranges with conflicting instructions, RoboKiller will respect the longer of the two ranges. For example, if a user has told RoboKiller to block all calls that match +173245, but allow all numbers that match +1732456, then if you receive a phone call from +1 732-456-0000, it will be allowed, because the most specific instructions we’ve gotten say to allow that number. However, if a call comes in from +1 732-451-0000, that call will be blocked, since blocking +173245 is the most specific, relevant instruction.
