We’re sorry you’re dealing with harassing calls. These are likely spoofed calls, where spammers fake the Caller ID to make it look like a local or familiar number. This common tactic makes unwanted calls harder to detect and stop, but Robokiller is built to help.
👉 Why spoofed calls are hard to block
Spoofed numbers change constantly, making them difficult to track. They often mimic the first digits of your own number, a technique known as Neighbor Spoofing.
👉 How Robokiller protects you
Robokiller automatically blocks numbers that resemble your own, typically those with the same first 5–6 digits. This significantly reduces spoofed calls. You can also block additional number patterns manually for even more control.
To do this:
-
Open the Robokiller app
-
Go to Settings > Blocked and Safe Filters
-
Add an area code and the next 2 digits you'd like to block
This is especially useful if the spoofed calls don’t match your own number pattern.
👉 What Robokiller blocks by default
Robokiller does not block all unknown calls. Instead, it blocks:
-
Verified spam numbers from our global blacklist (over 100,000 entries)
-
Numbers or area codes you've manually added to your personal block list
👉 Why Robokiller can’t block “Unknown” calls
Due to iOS limitations, developers can’t block or identify calls that show up as Unknown. These often originate from VoIP lines or international numbers and lack valid Caller ID info, so Robokiller has no way to filter them.
We're constantly improving our technology to handle these tricky cases, but in the meantime, these tools give you strong protection against most unwanted calls.
